Subdivisions in the Greater Auckland Area
Residential, industrial and rural subdivisions straddle a diverse range of geologic settings in the greater Auckland area. Typically, Geotechnicial reports address slope stability, bearing capacity and settlement, but depending on local geology, often more unusual features require investigation. These can include piping pumiceous silts, elevated groundwater levels, highly variable volcanic deposits and uncontrolled filling. In addition, topography, vegetation cover and location can often present substantial challenges for fieldwork. Occasionally, despite the best efforts of the investigation team, problems are only revealed once earthworks are underway.
