Generative AI Showcase in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology Practice

Call for Submissions

Building on the strong interest in our 2025 event on practical applications of Generative AI, the AGS NSW Chapter is pleased to invite submissions for a 2026 showcase dedicated to AI in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology Practice. This year’s event will feature a dynamic digital poster showcase format, where selected contributors will present their work in person in Sydney and engage directly with attendees through interactive showcase pods.

We welcome submissions from industry practitioners, consultants, contractors,  technology developers, government professionals, researchers and students who are using Generative AI in meaningful and practical ways.

We are looking for submissions that reflect real-world, practical uses of Generative AI, such as (but not limited to):

Event Details

Based on the submissions received, a number of innovative and high-quality entries will be selected for presentation at the showcase. Selected contributors will be invited to present their work in person at a dedicated AGS NSW Chapter Showcase of Generative AI in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology Practice, to be held in Sydney on Wednesday 23 September 2026.

The event will adopt an interactive digital poster showcase format, with each presenter allocated a dedicated pod to display, discuss, and demonstrate their work. The showcase aims to foster collaboration, stimulate new ideas, and highlight the growing role of Generative AI and other AI-enabled approaches in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology practice.
