Overview of the 2018 symposium

The symposium will present overviews of current geotechnical investigation and instrumentation challenges, state-of-the-art practices, innovative technologies, new research results and case histories demonstrating applications of advanced techniques and cost effective approaches in site investigation and verification of long term performance of earth and earth supported structures. Papers are invited on geotechnical aspects of site investigation, real time monitoring and new insights into experiences, technologies and strategies.

The goal of this symposium is to provide professional engineers, researchers, specialist contractors, regulators, educators and students the opportunity to meet and share their knowledge and experiences in this area.

Papers that have been previously published will not be accepted for the symposium.

Important dates & submission

All papers will be peer reviewed and should be submitted in the Australian Geomechanics journal format (outlined below). The final version of the papers, after addressing any reviewers’ comments, will be due by 1 October 2018 and PowerPoint presentations are required by 1 November 2018.

All abstracts and papers to be sent to [email protected]
